
What does your bucket list for this year include?
So, here we are, again, standing at the same point…
New Year’s day, new resolutions, new goals, new targets, new things to accomplish, new paths to pave, new… hey, whoa. Stop and take a deep breath…
What is it all about? Why all this crazy race that begins every year and ultimately, usually finishes before you are even halfway there? What is the motivation behind? Which feelings and needs? And why all of them at once?
It’s been a few weeks that I was picking and counting resolutions, targets and goals. I was creating plans in my mind, lists, what to do, what to eat, what to avoid, what to buy (lots of staff to buy and prepare), who to meet, whom to get inspiration from, where to search, how to start, how much money it will cost… crazy. A frenzy that got me, at least, lost and maybe, feel a loser, without purpose.
At a first glance, this approach might work. And to support such long lists of goals, there are countless lists, apps and a lot of fancy ways to get one’s life organised, to put all to-do’s in one place. It’s the work that has to be done.
Usually, I feel trapped. However, looking at it from a different perspective, they say to “Look where you are going because you will go where you are looking”. Agreed.
But, since I haven’t made up my mind yet, and since it’s already close to midnight BEFORE the 2nd day of the new year, WITHOUT a bucket list and to-do’s (whoa), I will just take a step back, take the deep breath, loosen up my mind and heart, and, at least, post this “note”, to write down blessings, thoughts, and needs, until new goals rise (or even get accomplished (!)) during this journey across 2023.
